Membership

How can you help?

Membership in the Durham Historic Association is the foundation of all we do. We are the oldest historic society in New Hampshire and we continue only with the help of our members. Members receive copies of our Newsletter three times a year.

Membership begins with your annual dues commitment, but continues in your attendance at programs and your volunteer work to aid in the creation of exhibits, the care of local cemeteries and help in the maintenance of our physical collection and building.

Volunteer Opportunities

You don’t need to be a member to volunteer at the museum on Saturdays in the Summer when we are open for visitors from 1 - 4.  We can also use the help of volunteers in our cemetery cleaning and maintenance program as well as with our exhibits in the Oyster River Middle School and at the Durham Public Library.  Mounting an exhibit involves exhibit design, historical research, creation of materials, writing text and actual installation of the exhibit. You can be involved in many different ways.

If you are interested in a larger commitment, you can indicate your interest in serving on the Board of Directors.
